|
Cranial giant cell arteritis is the vasculitis of large and middle-sized arteries that affects patients over 50 years old. Common symptoms include headache, jaw claudication and rarely, visual loss. Early diagnosis and treatment is crucial to avoid rapid progression and irreversible damage. Temporal artery biopsy is useful in assisting with cranial giant cell arteritis diagnosis by confirming giant cell, but histologic finding is often variable. In this report, we present a case of giant cell arteritis without giant cell in temporal artery biopsy but diagnose with non-invasive imaging included FDG PET-CT and Color Doppler Ultrasound which are means of assistance.
